What is Arm Lift?
Arm Lift is also called “Brachioplasty”. Brachioplasty reshapes the upper arm contours so that excess skin between the armpit and the elbow is reduced in fat, resulting in a more proportionate appearance.
Brachioplasty brings the upper arms to look firmer and younger, giving patients an increased self-confidence in wearing short sleeves.
Sagging in the back and arms occurs due to weight loss, aging, excessive sun exposure and gravity. The flap in the arms becomes more obvious when a sleeveless outfit is worn and the arms are slightly raised.
Operation Technique
-If there is fat accumulation, arm lift can be combined with liposuction or laser-liposuction and body shaping operations.
-If there is light skin sagging and/or fat accumulation in the arms, correction is performed with an ellipse incision in the armpit.
-If there is medium to excess skin sagging and/or fat accumulation, correction is made with a T-shaped incision in the back and inner parts of the arms.
The scar is not evident from the outside.
Recovery Process
The patient may return home on the same day. An elastic bandage is wrapped around the arms. Color change in this area after surgery is normal. These changes disappear within 2 weeks.
On the third day after operation, you'll be able to take a shower and have a flight.
You'll be able to start daily activities within a couple of days whereas you should avoid movements that force the arms for 2 weeks.
