Perhaps no other feature defines the face quite like the nose. A refined profile can completely change the harmony of a person’s facial features, which is why it’s no surprise that unhappiness with nose shape and size is one of the most common cosmetic complaints.
It is recommended for men and women above 18 years old for full development of anatomical, mental and psychosocial structure, with the exception of those who have congenital or injury-related nasal deformities.
Both open and closed rhinoplasty techniques are performed depending on the nose of the patient. The bone, soft tissue, and the cartilage forming the nasal structure are reshaped (the point where art and science meet). Low nasal tip, excessive height, protruding area or missing area on nose back, nose curvature, nostrils and nose tip are corrected resulting in aesthetic look. During the operation, deviated septum (curvature of the middle wall of the nose) and the turbinate (nasal flesh) affecting the nasal breathing are corrected. After giving the nose a new aesthetic shape, a plastic splint is placed on it for 5-7 days and special bands are applied in the external part of the nose.
Initially, complaints and expectations after your nose surgery are taken into account and evaluated thoroughly. Your face is photographed from different angles and the presumed image after surgery is shown to you on the computer for your opinion and further consultation. Consequently, with the help of computer programs used, changes can be made to the shape of the nose. Also, the breathing status in the nose structure is examined in detail with the help of endoscopic devices.
In cases of breathing problems, they are immediately corrected during the operation. Once you decide to have the surgery, we arrange the day of the surgery as suitable to you.
After Rhinoplasty- Healing Process
Two types of swelling may occur after rhinoplasty: one appears immediately after the surgery as bruising in the cheeks, forehead and eye area, which disappears completely in about 7 days; while a second swelling appears from the change in the nose itself. During the healing process, this swelling gradually decreases that result with constant changes of the nose. This is the reason why the nose has its final appearance within approximately 6 months to 1 year after rhinoplasty.
It is observed that postoperative patients' human relations and behavior improved positively 3 weeks after the operation, as the patient becomes aware of the new shape of their nose and starts to enjoy it.
After rhinoplasty, some advice follows: the nose has to be protected from traumas, and no wearing glasses for the first 3 months. After 1 week, walks are allowed and after 1 month sports can be performed. It is important to avoid steroid sprays for the first 3 months. 1-6-12 months after surgery, monthly checks are scheduled.
